How to Enter a PC in the Database Empty How to Enter a PC in the Database

When entering PCs, to make it easy for the DMs, here are some rules and guidelines.

1. A rule, when entering your description and your visible equipment, please do NOT use the ENTER key or the single quote ('). For some reasons, presumably to do with the database setup for those fields, they mess up the record and may cause the record not to load or even have a PLAY button

2. Please enter only the base stats, not adjusted for race. The computer will do this for you. A 32 point buy system is in place with the point buy being as follows: 8=0, 9=1, 10=2, 11=3, 12=4, 13=5, 14=6, 15=8, 16=10, 17=13, 18=16.

3. If you are multiclassing, when entering your class, please enter the 1st level class first followed by the second level class. Knowing what the 1st level class is, is important for the sanctioning DM to correctly determine the total number of hit points (see below) and the total number of skill points you should have.

4. Hitpoints should be maximum possible for your 1st level class and half hit dice + CON for the second level. Examples: Fighter(2) with 14 con should have 19 hit points (10+2) + (5+2). A rogue/wizard with 10 con would have (6+0) + (2+0)=8hp. Making note of which class is first is important as a wizard/rogue with 10 con would only have (4+0) + (3+0) = 7hp.

5. Saves. Please only enter the base save. Do NOT add on any stat modifiers as the computer will do this for you. The misc box should be left blank unless you are entering a bonus given from a feat such as Iron Will which add 3. In this case there should be a 3 in the Misc box for Will.

6. BAB. Again you have to enter it, and also enter the Melee and Range Bonus. For some obscure reasons, the computer does not do this for you.

7. Unfortunately you need to fill in the racial and class abilities. These should be found in the appropriate source book. Incidently if you are using a non-core class or race, please note here the source book you got it from. Especially useful if the DM has no idea where it is and where you got it from.

8. Feats. Enter the feats here. This also includes any bonus feats obtained from a class such as Monk or Fighter. It may help, if there are a few to mark them as when they apply i.e. L1: for a 1st level feat, F1: for a 1st level fighter feat etc. Also, it's neater to enter one feat per line. Plus, if you are using a non-core feat, then again, please enter the source book where you found it.

9. Combat Info. Here you enter your initiative bonus and any stats for the weapon(s) you are using.

10. Skills. To make it easier for the DM, please enter each skill on a seperate line along with the number of ranks and the total bonus. Also, make it clear which skill points were spent on cross-class skills and which on class skills. This is especially important for multi-class PCs.

11. Experience Points: Always 1000xp

If there's anything else that should be added or changed, please reply below and I'll edit later.
